Empowering you to make the best decisions for your health

Root canals get a bad rap. But at Lansdowne Dental Arts, we’ll help you see things differently. A life-changing procedure that can help you get rid of pain, root canals prevent the need for extraction and allow you to continue eating your favorite foods.

Dr. Jun H. Chung has invested in state-of-the-art technology and training to provide you with the most comfortable and effective root canal treatment possible.

Expert care starts with an expert diagnosis

There’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach. Dr. Jun H. Chung does what’s best for you. That starts by conducting a thorough evaluation of your mouth to understand the issue and create a treatment plan that provides the best outcome.

Some common signs that a root canal may be right for your situation include:

  • Tooth pain, discomfort, or abnormal sensitivity
  • Gums that are swollen, tender, or have pimples
  • A cracked tooth
  • Recently suffered from a traumatic accident

A comfortable, stress-free experience

Evaluation and Planning

We’ll evaluate your tooth and take 3D x-rays to determine the extent of the damage and to plan the procedure.

Sedation Options

We’ll numb the area with a local anesthetic to ensure that you’re comfortable during treatment. We also offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation.

Dr. Jun H. Chung will remove the infected or inflamed pulp, clean and disinfect the inside of the tooth, and then seal it to prevent further infection.

Post-Treatment Care

We’ll provide instructions on how to care for your tooth and ensure proper healing. We may also recommend a dental crown to restore structure and function.

How long will a root canal take?

Most root canals are completed in a single appointment, but more complex cases may require additional visits. We’ll provide you with a treatment plan and timeline.

Is it better to extract a tooth instead of getting a root canal?

While extraction may seem like a more straightforward solution, it’s important to preserve your natural teeth whenever possible. Root canal therapy is a safe and effective treatment that can help save your tooth and prevent further damage or infection. We’ll always explore all your options and provide you with the best possible care for your needs.

Can I drive myself home after a root canal?

In most cases, you should be able to drive yourself home after a root canal. However, if you use oral sedation during the procedure, you’ll need to arrange for someone to drive you home. We’ll provide you with specific instructions based on your individual needs.
